Anya's First Jump

My daughter Evie's friend, Charlotte, has been dying to take Anya out for her first jumping. So I finally gave in and off we went.

Charlotte prepared a little jumping course with some caveletti and a little makeshift jump on the beach. You can always find bamboo and driftwood on the beach to create many things. We've made everything from Dressage rings, round pens and jumping courses with just a little imagination!

Anya, at a trot, danced over the caveletti with elegance, but then crashed through the jump. But when we asked her at a canter, she started to fly over the jump and enjoy it.

Only a few times, as we didn't want to stretch her legs or over work her and we wanted to leave her with a happy memory of the whole experience.

Riding home, along the beach, a tropical storm started to gather. Love those wild moments when the seas pick up and the thunder rolls off the mountains! Got home just in time, before the skies opened up and the rain poured down.
